Donate to our rescue
J's Animal Rescue specializes in abandoned cats and kittens who end up at colonies or in someone's yard. Our goal is to help reduce the cat population in the city of Ottawa.
We do not believe in trap neuter and return but rather we work with each kitty we rescue rehabilitating no matter how long it takes for them to trust and be confident. Some take months, others years.
Each rescue we intake, we asses, vet check, provide medical care as required, rehabilitate and train before they are ready for adoption. We apply a 'graduation' process to each phase of our rehabilitation. Once a kitty can be handled, they are ready for foster where our foster continue to help them build trust and confidence.
We are purely volunteer and foster based located throughout the city of Ottawa. We are not a registered charity at the moment.
We accept empties ( http://www.emptiesforpaws.com/), Canadian Tire money, gift cards, credit card donations to Blackburn Animal Hospital care of J's Animal Rescue, Paypal or email transfers to jsanimalrescueottawa@yahoo.ca
Did you know?
"Environment Canada researcher Peter Blancher estimated Canada has somewhere between 1.2 and 4 million unowned cats, a population that includes both stray cats and feral cats. Cat-care organizations use the rule of thumb that the unowned cat population equals between 6 and 15% of the human population, which works out to 2.1 to 5.5 million." https://catsandbirds.ca/research/cats-in-canada/
Homeless and abandoned animals each year find a new home through Rescues and shelters- could you help us?
